I have this laptop, which I already upgraded it's memory to 8GB (2 x 4GB DDR3L-1600 SODIMM) and it's current CPU (original) is:
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 330 @ 2.13GHz, 2133 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date Hewlett-Packard F.1C, 17-05-2010
I would like to know what's the highest CPU that I can upgrade to (that is supported by this BIOS)
Please advise.
Many thanks in advance

Hi,
At the moment you have the i3 330M.
There are different upgrade possibilities. From service manual we see that the PC supports these quad core processors:
i7-820-QM, 1.73 GHz, SC turbo up to 3.06 GHz
i7-720-QM, 1.6 GHz, SC turbo up to 2.8 GHz
Since you have the latest BIOS there is also support for
I5-540m and I7-620m which are dual core processors and have much faster single core processing speed. They will also run cooler and consume less energy. The QM processors will be slightly faster in multithreading. I would go with the i5 540m or the i7 620m.
Hope it helps,
David

From: https://support.hp.com/rs-en/document/c02996679?
the installed processor is:
2.20 GHz 2nd generation Intel Core i3-2330M Processor
You cited:
2.13 Ghz, Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 330
Did you mean '2330' or '330' ?
From: https://ark.intel.com/products/53434/Intel-Core-i3-2330M-Processor-3M-Cache-2_20-GHz
Code Name: Products formerly Sandy Bridge
Vertical Segment: Mobile
Processor Number: i3-2330M
# of Cores 2
# of Threads 4
Processor Base Frequency 2.20 GHz
Cache 3 MB L3
Bus Speed 5 GT/s DMI
TDP 35 W
The page: https://ark.intel.com/products/codename/29900/Sandy-Bridge#@mobile
lists all "mobile" processors in that "Sandy Bridge" family:
Intel® Core™ i3-2357M 1.30 GHz 3 MB L3
Intel® Core™ i3-2367M 1.40 GHz 3 MB SmartCache
Intel® Core™ i3-2365M 1.40 GHz 3 MB SmartCache
Intel® Core™ i3-2377M 1.50 GHz 3 MB SmartCache
Intel® Core™ i3-2375M 1.50 GHz 3 MB SmartCache
Intel® Core™ i3-2330M 2.20 GHz 3 MB L3
Intel® Core™ i3-2348M 2.30 GHz 3 MB SmartCache
Intel® Core™ i3-2350M 2.30 GHz 3 MB SmartCache
Intel® Core™ i3-2370M 2.40 GHz 3 MB SmartCache
So, the fastest is only 10% faster than the current 2.2 Ghz processor.
Same TDP, which is important.
Worth the upgrade ???????

Your *current* level of BIOS: adds BIOS support for the Intel I3-350, I5-520, I5-540, and I7-620 K-O Stepping Processors
So, look again at that table of "mobile" processors in the "Sandy Bridge" family.
There might be some 'i5' or 'i7' processors that have a TDP of 35W, which is important.
