I cannot update BIOS and drivers. When HP detects the product it only shows updates for Windows 10, which was preinstalled when I purchased it in 2019. When Windows 11 became available I updated to Windows 11.
The problem came up last week for a Zoom meeting when the PC wouldn't detect its internal microphone. I hadn't used the microphone for some time but it did work when I used it in a Zoom meeting a couple of years ago. During a long session with Microsoft support today, we tried a BIOS update but weren't successful. About a year ago I installed a new Samsung SSD and don't know if this had any effect, but I am stuck trying to update the BIOS and drivers.

Sorry, I am not having boot issues.
I am dealing with the laptop not recognizing its internal microphone. My first step after doing the Microsoft diagnostics was to try using the HP Support Assistant to update my BIOS and drivers.
The HP Support Assistant (which correctly identifies my laptop) only offers Windows 10 as the operating system to update, and I am on Windows 11. I tried the update anyway, without success.
Since my posting I've seen a discussion from about a year ago suggesting that HP laptops are "not certified to Windows 11" and the user was advised to downgrade to Windows 10 and then do BIOS and driver updates.
Is this true and am I thus going to have to reinstall Windows 10?

I received a private message from HP giving me a link that's supposed to get me to advanced support, but the link didn't go where I was told it would. I've replied to the private message but haven't heard anything since I sent the reply a couple of days ago. I'm reduced to paying for a support subscription, I guess.
