Hi,
I've inherited my mums old g62 laptop which is pretty **bleep** slow! Ive looked into the available processor upgrades from the current P6100 2Ghz, and Ive settled on an Intel Core I5-450m which ive picked up for a dirt cheap price in immaculate condition. My question is purely which BIOS I need to update the board to or if i've got the wrong idea and it cant be done!! Currently running on BIOS F.48 but i've seen speak of F.07A or F.08A being the correct bios needed.
Many thanks for any help.

Here is the Service Manual which is the starting point for any project like this:
The i5-450 is listed as a factory compatible processor. That means it was compatible with the original BIOS and is compatible with all later BIOS editions. The F.48 is the latest BIOS and will be fine. Go ahead and install the processor and good luck.
