I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. This sounds like hardware related issue with the fan and in order to fix this issue,  your computer needs to be serviced.  As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  • Shut down the computer, and then inspect and clean the exterior vents to remove dust buildup by blowing air through the vent openings. Dust can accumulate inside the vent openings and around internal cooling components, preventing the removal of heat.

For more information on the fan: HP Notebook PCs - Fan Is Noisy and Spins Constantly

  • Perform a hard reset. Performing a hard reset can reset recorded thermal values in memory and enable you to use the computer again, even if only for a short time to access and save any important files before service.

For more information on performing a hard reset, see Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues.

  • In some cases, updating the BIOS might help prevent the noisy operation from occurring. For more information on how to update the BIOS, see Updating the BIOS.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

This is my daughters computer and I do not have access at the moment, however, I checked when I initially heard the issue and the fan vents are clear with no visible blockag.  Again this is a new computer.  I suspect there is a HW / bearing issue and the fan needs to be replaced.  I have video and audio of the noise.  How can I share?

I would suggest please perform the troubleshooting steps in order to isolate the issue, if it's a hardware related issue with the fan then your computer needs to be serviced.

Work on it as per your convenience and keep me posted on the results.

Hello,

I blew air on the vents (no obstructions) see attached picture.  Fan noise is still loud and in some cases sounds like "screaming"  There is clearly a HW problem.  Also updated BIOS.  How is a warranty claim entered or started?
