Spectre x360 Convertible 15t-ch000
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have a Spectre x360 Convertible 15t-ch000 that is just over two years old.  I've been having frequent BSOD issues and the HP diagnostic test indicates something wrong with the memory (failure ID 6CU6JX-962A7V-MFPW3G-40A803).  It is not under warranty.  Any idea roughly how much it would cost to get this repaired?

Hi, @aerisod

Below is the failure report information generated by the code, minus your notebook's serial number.

Failure Information
Failure ID Tag Checksum HP Serial Number Test Date Failure Code Device Includes Error Message
6CU6JX-962A7V-MFPW3G-40A803OKXXXXXXXXXX9/9/20201MemoryCache Module, Memory, Memory BoardMemory Module 1 Failure

Your notebook according to the parts list, has one 8 GB memory module that needs to be replaced.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the memory removal and replacement procedure.

This is a compatible replacement for the memory that failed on you.

You may want to buy two of them and increase the memory.

If you can do the work yourself, that is how much it will cost.

Thanks so much, Paul!  Your reply is incredibly helpful.  I was concerned that the RAM would be soldered onto the board in this model but it looks like that isn't the case.

You really went above and beyond what I was expecting and I really appreciate it.  Thanks again!
