My battery icon has suddenly started indicating that the battery is at 31%, plugged in but not charging. Concomitantly, whenever I unplug my AC adapter the laptop suddenly turns off as if the battery holds no charge at all (even though it indicates 31%).
I've deleted my battery drivers, turned off and unplugged my laptop, pressed on the power button for 1-2 minutes, plugged it back in and inserted the battery and turned it on, the driver was reinstalled but the problem persisted.
I've updated my BIOS and the problem has persisted.
All the diagnostic tools that I've used have indicated that both the AC adapter AND the battery are in good shape.
Any help?

@aie
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
1. Go to Start, search for Device Manager, and open this result.
2. Expand batteries.
3. Right-click on the ACPI option (usually the 2nd option) and select delete or uninstall. Follow the prompts.
4. Shut down the computer.
5. Disconnect the charger.
6. Remove the battery.
7. Hold down the power button for 1 minute.
8. Insert the battery only.
9. Attempt to turn the battery on.
Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you Echo_Lake for your response.
I attempted what you instructed me to and the problem persisted.
Now, after updating to the latest version of Windows 10 (1903), the battery indicates "0% available, plugged in."
Any further suggestions?
Note that all of the software and hardware diagnostics that I ran (HP assistant, HP Hardware Diagnostic) cleared both my AC adapter and Battery as healthy. The former also indicated the capacity of my battery and so on.
Kind regards,

Perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant:
To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.
Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.
- To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon
.
- Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
- Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
- Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
- Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
- Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
And, also run BIOS Update: Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629 This should fix the issue.
Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you once again Echo_Lake,
As I have indicated in my original post I've already updates the BIOS and it hasn't solved my problem.
I've checked for updates and no updates are available, which makes sense since I've already recently updated to the latest version of Windows 10 (1903) a few days ago.
Any further suggestions?
