Hello. Since I changed the battery to my HP EliteBook 840 G3 Notebook PC last year, the battery hasn't gone a month without it notifying me through the HP Support Assistant app that battery calibration is needed.
Please what can I do to resolve this?

Hi @olaaji
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
Steps to Resolve Battery Calibration Issues
Calibrate the Battery:
- Charge the Battery: Fully charge your battery until it reaches 100%.
- Use the Laptop: Once fully charged, use your laptop normally until the battery drains completely, and the laptop shuts down.
- Leave it Off: After it shuts down, leave the laptop off for about 5-8 hours.
- Recharge: Plug it back in and charge it to 100% again without interruption.
Check Battery Health:
- You can check the battery health using HP’s built-in diagnostics:
- Open the HP Support Assistant.
- Navigate to Battery Check and follow the prompts to assess the battery health.
- Alternatively, run a battery report:
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
- Type powercfg /batteryreport and press Enter.
- Check the report generated in your Documents folder for insights on battery health.
Update Drivers and BIOS:
- Ensure that all drivers, especially for the battery and chipset, are up to date. You can do this via the HP Support Assistant or by visiting the HP website.
- Check for BIOS updates, as a newer version may address battery management issues.
Check Battery Compatibility:
- Make sure that the replacement battery is genuine and compatible with your EliteBook 840 G3. Non-genuine batteries can lead to calibration and performance issues.
Use HP Battery Calibration Tool:
- Some HP laptops come with a battery calibration tool in the BIOS. Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS by pressing Esc or F10 during startup. Check for any battery calibration options.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
