The information you provided about the new battery shows it as operating as expected.

I don't understand why you have a concern about calibration when it is operating as a new one should.

It is a SMART battery and If it needs calibrating it should do it on its own when needed.

Run the long battery test. If it says the battery is OK then it is OK.

I say that based on the information you have provided.

You mention no issues with the battery.

There is a saying in English that is called Murphy's law.

Murphy's law states that if something is working as it should you should leave it alone.

If you don't something is likely to go wrong and that makes Murphy's law a pretty good rule to follow..

Hi Erico,

Thank you for your reply, i was following HP assistant software remark on battery "calibration required" and was worried to shorten its life.

What you read about the battery status i posted is not redable for me, and how you deduced that the battery was operating properly.

Thank you

Does the battery charge fully?

When the HP Support Assistant calls for calibration, it usually means that there is a large deviation between the original storage capacity and the capacity it is currently capable of retaining.  For an older battery that would prevent the surprise quick discharge from 100-70 percent or less.  It normalizes the current capacity to the 100%  level. You stated that your battery is new. That should mean this is its first calibration. Run the battery test from the HP Hardware Diagnostics UEFI utility. The battery test should perform the calibration on its own during the test. The only reason that it won't  should be that the battery has cell terminal voltage problems.(maximum variance between cell voltages is 10mV)

Hi,

Did all that with HP Hardware Diagnostics UEFI utility, drained the battery by memory loop test didn't work, did the battery calibration didn't work.

You took the charge down below 21%?

I wish you hadn't done that. That is never a good idea with Li-Ion batteries.

Is getting an RMA fom the company you bought the battery a viable option?

I would replace it with a new one.

Thank You Erico,

Yes i shouldn't have discharged the battery by the memory loop test, i followed HP calibration methods.

Will get in contact with the dealer to seek solution/replacement.
