Battery / Charger Issue

Picked up a used 8760w to replace my 8560w, and the following occurs on the 8760w:

...While on 8760w battery, boots to Win10, although with a dimmer screen.

...With the AC adapter is plugged in and battery installed, the screen will go black after a couple of seconds. although the power light and other lights stay on

...With the battery removed and on AC power, it functions as it should with crisp, bright screen

When powered off and with AC adapter plugged in the charge status did go up from about 65% charge to about 81% after about an hour

Tried the AC adapter from the 8560w with the same results.

I'm open to any suggestions, work-arounds, ideas, etc.

They are 2 old different machines. You can't compare Orange with Apple (well Lemon)
