I have a HP OMEN 16-wf1003nl (2024), which only has about 1 month of life. Bought it and used it for gaming and university, and its great so far. The real problem is the battery. I mostly used it plugged in (obviously for better gaming experience) and i actived by BIOS the Adaptive Battery Optimization, activated all the possible feauture to preserve the battery as much as i could. But i did the battery report and noticed that my capacity dropped over 20%. The designed capacity is 83Wh and now is about 65-66Wh. How is that? I also used a cooling fan, tried to get a better airflow for my laptop. Also undervolting my laptop and lowered the temperature and everything. I know that some laptop try to preserve the battery by limiting its charge around 80% but it seems no possible for this laptop. I really wish to have an answer to my doubts and maybe a real help about this fast degradation.

Hi @Spxrtaa
I can recommend discharging the battery to 50% and then recharging it to 100% with the laptop turned off, and then checking the charge capacity again.

no, Discharge only 50% of the battery; discharging it completely damages it.

Hi!
If this works the same way "maximize my battery health" works on my Business models, 20% of the design capacity is disabled and will appear to be "worn out". I have commented on this many times, but most people don't understand how this works and always seem to think the Battery fully charges and is damaged: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Maximize-my-battery-health-don....
If you take a look at the picture at the bottom of this HP explanatory document, it would appear that it does work in this way (calculate full charge capacity/design capacity seen on the pic): HP Gaming Notebook PCs - Using Adaptive Battery Optimizer. Also this Reddit discussion.
