Hi @SMKYADAV ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Experiencing battery drain issues with a new laptop can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem before considering a return. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you address the battery drain issue on your HP Pavilion x360:

Check Power-Hungry Apps:

  • Make sure that no resource-intensive applications are running in the background. Task Manager can help you identify such applications.

Adjust Power Settings:

  • Open the Control Panel and go to "Power Options."
  • Select a power plan that is balanced or power-saving.
  • Adjust the advanced power settings to ensure that the system is set to conserve power during periods of inactivity.

Update Drivers:

  • Ensure that all your device drivers are up-to-date, especially the graphics and chipset drivers. You can find the latest drivers on the HP support website.

BIOS Update:

  • Check if there is a BIOS update available for your laptop on the HP support website. Sometimes, BIOS updates can address power management issues.

Windows Update:

  • Make sure that your operating system is fully updated. Windows updates often include bug fixes and optimizations.

Disable Unnecessary Startup Programs:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  • Navigate to the "Startup" tab and disable unnecessary programs that launch at startup.

Screen Brightness and Sleep Settings:

  • Lower the screen brightness to conserve battery.
  • Adjust the sleep settings to put the laptop to sleep or hibernate after a shorter period of inactivity.

Battery Calibration:

  • Sometimes, calibrating the battery can improve accuracy in reporting the remaining battery life. You can find this option in the power settings.

HP Battery Health Check:

  • Some HP laptops come with a built-in battery health check utility. Use this tool to check the overall health of your battery.
