Hi all. I have an HP pavilion 13-ce3520sa 10 th Gen i7 laptop which was bought Recently. Mistakenly I didn't charge the Battery 3 or 8 Hours and Operate it with the Power that came charged from the company. I read the Manual and it says the Battery Lasts about 7 Hours or even more but mine is working like half of that...even Less. It Is freaking Me out i tried calibrating it And I don't think it did much to it. any one who have a Solution so that i can get the best out of my Pc would be Great. Other than this thing the Pc is really great nice performance and Capacity. Thank you for Your time.I really am expecting Your Message.

Hi @Jz06
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the Battery issue.
Please try these steps - HP Notebook PCs - Improving Battery Performance (Windows)
Also, try updating the BIOS - HP Consumer Notebook PCs - Updating the BIOS (Basic Input Output System)
If the issue still persists, test the battery -
1) Shutdown the computer.
2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3) Press F2 once.
4) Go to Component test.
5) From the list, run the Battery Test.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
Click the “Kudos, Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!
Have a great day!

Hi, I am having an issue with my battery too. It is literally counting down one percent of usage every minute even when just web browsing.
I have heard of these devices needing a bios update but am unable to find this as an option in the HP support assistant tool.
Can you advise what the latest bios version is and how it can be updated?
My version appears to be F.03
Many thanks

Hi @CageyJay
1.) May I have the exact model name of the product? Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.
2.) What's the operating system installed on the computer?
Let me know.

Hi Nicola71,
Thanks for your input, however my laptop is less than 1 month old and has only been lightly used. At this point I wouldn't be expecting to replace the battery.
If replacement does need to be necessary I would expect to return the laptop under warranty.
Many thanks.

Hi @CageyJay
F.03 is the latest BIOS.
Have you tried testing the battery.
You may also try the below steps -
1. In the search box, type and open “Device Manager”.
2. Expand “Batteries”.
3. Right click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there.
4. Click on “Uninstall”.
5. At the prompt put a check in the box to remove the current driver
6. Shutdown the computer.
7. Remove the battery for minute and then put it back in.
8. When the computer comes back up it should automatically find the driver.
9. Go to Device Manager.
10. Expand Batteries.
11. Right click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there.
12. Click "Search automatically for updated driver software". Repeat the same steps for Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller.

Hi @Asmita6658
Thanks for confirming the latest BIOS version.
I have tried testing the battery and it passed.
With regards to removing the battery this device does not have a removable battery without removing the outer casing.
I am unwilling to do this at this time as I fear it may invalidate my warranty and I suspect I may end up having to return the laptop under warranty to correct this issue.
I have tried searching for updated drivers but the search returned that I already had the latest drivers installed. A newer version of windows ( v 1909) was found and I have updated to this version.
I will allow the battery to run down and will see how long the next charge lasts but if there is no improvement I will have to look at returning the laptop under warranty unless there are any other measures you can suggest?
Many thanks

Hi @ Asmita6658.
Just to update.
I returned the laptop to the retailer who sent it away for repair. The repair team did the following;
Replaced the battery
Amended incorrect BIOS settings
Cleaned the fan - I'm not sure how dirty it could be after the limited use it has had
Tightened loose screws!
However the situation was only marginally better, I managed to get 1 Hour 50 minutes from a full battery instead of the 1 hour 30 - 40 mins previously.
I took the laptop back to the shop again and it was replaced with a brand new one.
I can report that the new one is much better, I have run it from full charge to empty with about 5 hours use. This is a lot less than the 10 hours listed in the HP specification but I am realistic and didnt expect that long anyway.
I have noticed that the fan is running a lot less on this one - it was running almost constantly on the previous one no matter what applications were running.
Also the battery does run down much quicker when making use of the GPU, this is expected of course but it is quite a dramatic difference.
I hope this helps
