7 Days back I purchased HP Pavilion 15-eg2770nd. I see that even the laptop is new, its batter is draining too fast.

every 2-3 minutes it drops by 1%-2%. Please help me in this regards.

Do you have anything plugged in the USB or HMDI, etc...

I have so many things plugged into my laptop through a USB daisy chain, including 3 huge monitors. This is why My laptop is plugged in at all times.

You can download an HP system check app and it will check the battery status for you, meaning it will give you the health percentage of your battery.

Or you can do it yourself by:

  • 1. Press ⊞ Win + R. This will open the "Run" dialog box.
  • 2. Type powershell into the box.
  • 3. Press Ctrl +⇧ Shift +↵ Enter at the same time. This will run PowerShell with administrative permissions.
  • 4. Click Yes on the UAC dialog box.
  • 5. Type powercfg /batteryreport /output "$home\Documents\battery-report.html" into the PowerShell window. This command will generate the report and save it to your documents folder.
  • 6. Type exit into the PowerShell window. This will close PowerShell.
  • 7. Open the report. Go to your Documents folder, and then open up the file called "battery-report."

Hope this is of some help to you. It should let you know if you need a new battery or not.
