Hello!

Recently I started facing this problem where my laptop won't turn on without a power supply and as soon as I remove the power supply it goes off. On checking with the HP PC Hardware Daigonistics software for the Battery component, I got the following Failure ID : 9SHG5W-8A79KV-XD7X7G-C0CK13. I couldn't find any solution regarding this failure id over the HP Portal or over the internet. Do I really need a battery replacement or is it some software glitch?

Can someone please help me with the problem. Also in case I have to change the battery, can someone tell me which battery (model no.) goes with my laptop or how I can find it online?

Hi,

You will need to replace the battery. The failure id indicates that the battery is below 25% of the original charge capacity.

The part number for the batter is 807612-831

You can perform online search with part number and find an original or quality compatible battery.

Example:

https://www.amazon.in/s?k=807612-831&ref=nb_sb_noss

Hope it helps,

David

I suggest that you use the HP Battery Check utility that is in the HP Support utility.
