Currently, I am having issues with my battery. It will not hold a charge, will not charge, and will not stay on unless plugged in. I ran the HP battery diagnostic test. The result was that the battery "failed" and the system offered the Failure ID: U0EC4F-74S9JM-MFPV7G-C08E03 and Product ID: G6T84UA#ABA.
I tried to contact support, but got no dice, since my computer is out of waranty (I bought it in 2014).
I am just trying to figure out if a new battery will solve my problem, or if I need to jump ship and get a new computer. Or if anyone knows and could share what the failure ID means, that would be extremely helpful.
Thank you in advance

The test result is no more complicated than saying Battery 1, the main battery, has failed. If the laptop is close to 5 years old and it is the original battery this is not a shock.
A new battery is likely around $50 US and a new laptop many times that much so if the laptop still does what you need it to do, I would replace the battery. Most people do not buy a new car when theirs needs new tires, for example. It is likely an internal battery but we can link you to a video showing how to do the replacement and it is not really hard.
Post back if you wish to pursue further. We will need the full model or product number, please.
