Hi @Xoey,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing a slow charging issue on an HP Laptop PC 15s-Fq2000 with Windows 11 can be caused by various factors. Here's a step-by-step guide to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:

1. Check the Basics

  • Charger & Cable: Ensure the charger and cable are functioning correctly. Try using another compatible charger if possible.
  • Power Source: Plug the charger into a different power outlet.

2. Software Updates

  • Windows Update: Ensure that your Windows 11 is up-to-date. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for updates.
  • HP Support Assistant: Use the HP Support Assistant to check for any HP-specific updates.

3. Power Settings

  • Power Plan: Adjust power settings to ensure they are not limiting the charging speed. Go to Control Panel > Power Options and select the Balanced plan or create a custom plan.
  • Battery Saver: Ensure Battery Saver mode is turned off during charging. Go to Settings > System > Battery.

4. BIOS and Firmware

  • BIOS Update: Check if there is a BIOS update available for your laptop. This can sometimes resolve hardware compatibility issues. Download the latest BIOS from the HP support website and follow the instructions to update it.

5. Device Manager

  • Battery Drivers: In Device Manager, expand the Batteries section and update the drivers for Microsoft AC Adapter and Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery.
    • Right-click each item and select Update driver.
    • Alternatively, uninstall them and restart your laptop to let Windows reinstall them automatically.

6. Diagnostics

  • HP Hardware Diagnostics: Run the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI tool to check for hardware issues. Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly during startup to enter the diagnostics menu and run the battery test.

7. Background Applications

  • Close Background Apps: Ensure that unnecessary applications are closed during charging to reduce power consumption.
  • Task Manager: Use Task Manager to identify and close high power-consuming applications.

8. Battery Calibration

  • Calibrate Battery: Sometimes, calibrating the battery can help. Fully charge the battery, then disconnect the charger and use the laptop until it shuts down due to a low battery. Charge it back to 100% without interruption.

9. External Factors

  • Temperature: Ensure the laptop is not overheating, as high temperatures can affect battery performance. Make sure vents are clear and use the laptop on a hard, flat surface.

10. Hardware Issues

  •  If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there might be a hardware problem with the battery or charging circuit.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
