I've gotten the HP Battery Alert 601 fault code each time I power up my computer the last few days, before this it happened once every one-two months. The last few days the battery has been draining at an insanely quick rate (from full to empty in less than 2 h), with the same parameters as previously where it would hold at least 3-4 h, for example a month earlier. I have the latest BIOS, I have done a battery check via Hardware Diagnostics and the results say Very Weak, in fact it does not even finish the battery check, it just cancels it.

I need a new battery, but I cannot seem to find it in the HP webstore. I do not feel comfortable buying such a component off of eBay or other websites I have never heard of.

 

Q1: Is the name of my battery simply SR04XL or is there any more information I need?
Q2: Where can I find an authentic battery to replace with?

Its specs

It uses  4-cell, 70 Wh Li-ion battery part #  917724-855 which is N/A from HP

I can't find it on Amazon in Europe. Please use part # to search online including eBay
