Hi. My laptop is a Pavilion x360. The battery doesn't get charged when plugged in. Even more bizarre thing is that the plug in bulb keeps on lit even if I didnt plug it with the adapter for charge and shows "Plugged it". When I plug in for a charge it keeps on showing "Plugged in", but does get charged. I tried to open the laptop myself and fix it, but I couldn't. Please help me out here. Thanks.

I have gone through your Post and I would like to help
Please reinstall the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery
Step 01. Click on the Start Button
Step 02. Type "Device Manager" in the start search box & open the Device Manager
Step 03. Look for Batteries and expand it by click on the + symbol on the left
Step 04. Right Click on "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" & uninstall
Note: This Battery driver will get re-installed automatically when you restart the Notebook again
Step 05. Please restart the Notebook
Next update the BIOS from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
If the issue persists run a Battery Test to confirm the Hardware Functionality
- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Power > Battery
Let me know how it goes 😊

Thank you for replying Toad. Its seems like I have found the issue. I ran the battery and power source hardware tests in the bios and both seems to be failed. How can I fix this? I have included the Test result in this query. Also I asked some of the local techs about the issue. They said there might be a battery IC failure. They also said this can be fixed by changing the IC but there is a great risk of motherboard failure. Is there any other way to resolve this? Please write me ASAP. Thank you.

The Notebook does have an integrated Battery, but the Battery can be changed without damaging the Motherboard.
I would request you to contact HP Support for Service Options

Thank you 😊

Thank you for replying Toad. As you said, yes, the battery can be changed without damaging the motherboard. But the local tech guys said that a battery IC in the motherboard might have been busted. I don't get it. How can a single small IC in a motherboard could be damaged with all the other stuff remaining intact? They said it can be fixed by changing only the IC in the motherboard but there's a risk of motherboard failure. Please help me out. I don't want to be conned by some local tech guys. Is it possible to change the IC without risking the motherboard? It become more weird now. The PC won't even turn on without plugging in the adapter. It's like it is functioning without a battery. Please reply ASAP. Thank you.
