Hello everyone,
HP Model 14-df0023cl, Battery in the laptop is HT03XL, Part No, L114210-422, sticker on the battery says replace with Hp spare L11119-855.
Laptop was put aside for a while, when back in use the battery died within 30 mins and now in 10 mins. Laptop periodically notifies replace battery.
Cant find an original on amazon or Hp shop.
Does anyone know if another Hp battery could fit, higher capacity would be great. There is room on the left side of the battery in the laptop, I wonder why the empty space Battery life was poor from the start and definitely not as advertised, but then again what's new.
My experience in after market batteries has been disappointing and I'd like not to throw this laptop in the bin. comp away, I had upgraded the Ram and gone to an SSD, its good for what I need, battery is definitely a let down, overall nice simple laptop. Please advise

You have the correct battery part number:
(11) Battery, 3 cell, 41 Whr, 3.6 Ah Li-ion L11119-855
This is the only compatible battery. The space you see to the left of the battery is for a 2.5 inch drive on some models. Yours has an M.2 SSD for storage.
I know you have already had it open but here is the Service Manual:
See p. 35.
This is a fairly common battery used on multiple models. Amazon tends to only have "compatible" 3rd party batteries and I will recommend them as long as you buy from a seller with at least a 4.5 star rating and a couple hundred reviews. Compatible batteries are often made on the same assembly line as "genuine" branded batteries and definitely use the same lithium ion cells. If you want a genuine HP replacement you have to go to eBay or a battery vendor, which is often what you get on eBay anyway. Often genuine HP batteries are old stock. They have sat on the shelf since the laptop was first made. Not necessarily a bad thing but batteries do lose a bit of capacity just by sitting unused. HP sells replacement batteries for a while on new models but makes no effort to keep them in stock. When they are gone they are gone, generally after a year from product introduction. HP just puts out so many different laptops they do not want to get into the battery business when so many others fill that niche in the market.

For $40 you will restore portability even if you only get a couple hours runtime it would not make sense to ditch the laptop.
