Hello all!
I recently purchased an HP Envy 13t that is an i7 8550U with 16 GB RAM and an NVidia MX 150, I recently reinstalled windows 10 (in order to get rid of the bloatware), and I noticed that at 100% battery it states that there is only 4 hours and 14 minutes remaining.
The screen is only at 20% brightness and battery saver is on, CPU usage is sub 10%, network usage 0% and disk usage is 1%.
This is quite terrible, and I am not sure what to do. This reported battery life is absolutely atrocious and far from the advertised 14 hours...Is this a known problem or is my laptop defective?
Or is it possible that the "Time Remaining" is not accurate.
Thank you for all your help!

All of the above are possible. You likely really have more than 4.25 hours remaining but it is unlikely you will ever see anything approaching 14 hours. Advertising actually says "up to 14 hours" and those two little words "up to" keep it from being any kind of enforceable warranty. 5 to 6 hours is much more like reality. There is nothing wrong with your battery or with your laptop.
The original factory load included some drivers and apps designed to stretch the power from battery and since I did not see how you reinstalled Windows I am not sure you actually got all the apps and drivers on there that you should have. Have you installed HP Support Assistant and let it check for any missing drivers and apps?

Yes, I've gone through the website and downloaded and installed all of the appropriate drivers.
I also certainly do not expect 14 hours, but having read several reviews prior to purchasing, the vast majority mentioned around 7 hours of batter life. 4 hours and 14 minutes is terrible, and since my last post my battery has drained from 100 to 84 and now only has 3 hours and 34 minutes left...so it seems like the 4 hours and 14 mnutes is accurate.
I ran the battery test and it said it is fine, and will calibrate it shortly but things are not looking good.
