Pavilion 14ce
Microsoft Windows XP

Hi HP Community,

Have recently purchased a HP PAvilion 14-ce. Have switched it on for the first time and charged to full, now the battery charging light continues to flash white in a series of five flashes, even when the laptop is not on charge and powered off. Battery seems to be operating fine so far.

Any ideas how to stop the light flashing?

Many thanks,

T

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

(Note you're using a little old computer and obsolete operating system hence options are limited to fix this issue)

Let's try these steps:

1) Shutdown the computer.

2) Unplug all the Adapter and peripherals connected.

3) Remove the Battery. ( not for Built-in Battery computer )

4) Press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds.

5) Plug-in the Adapter and put the Battery back into the computer if it's a (removable battery)

6) Try to turn on the computer and check,

Resetting the BIOS:

1) Shutdown the computer.
2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3) Press F10 once for BIOS.
4) Press F9 for BIOS defaults.
5) Press F10 to save and exit.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
