Hello,
Recently, I got an error message in the BIOS error (601) I believe, which stated that I need to replace my battery. Upon checking my battery status in the HP Support Assistant, it says the battery is at 23% capacity even though it is a LLB and has only done 365/1000 charge cycles. The laptop is out of warranty but I was wondering what HP would do about this, considering the battery has not lasted the specification provided, and how to get the battery replaced.
Many Thanks

2 years is about the low end of the average lifespan of a battery. The laptop itself has lasted fine. This is normal maintenance. You would not throw out your car because it needs new tires.

You can run the laptop on just AC power no problem.

The specification for the battery warranty is time not cycles. So how old is it? If you are interested we can help you locate a battery and provide replacement instructions or you can try making a warranty claim but odds are not good for success if the battery is more than a little over one year old.

The laptop is 1 year and 11 months old according to HP Support, so as you said I may not have much luck with warranty, it may still be worth trying I guess? It's still quite disappointing however, how a £700+ laptop doesn't even last 2 years when other laptops have lasted for much longer than that. Anyhow, I really appreciate the response and would be grateful if you could help me locate a replacement battery and instructions as mentioned. While I wait to replace the battery, is it safe/acceptable to just run the laptop on the power or should I just not use it at all until I have replaced it.
Thanks a lot for replying

Thanks a lot for that, I guess the only other question would be if you knew where I could get the rubber feet to replace them once I've replaced the battery, I'm assuming they wouldn't stick back properly but I might be wrong. I looked for them already but can't find the ones that fit my exact model.
Once again, I really appreciate the assistance and hopefully the battery replacement goes smoothly.

If you are careful with the rubber feet they can be reused. Try not to stretch them out. Adhesive will stay on them so they can be restuck but if not a tiny drop of rubber cement (not model type glue) will work. There are replacement kits, too

Shoot, I took a look at the link from earlier and realised that shipping is around $40 itself as I am in the UK. Do you know of any genuine suppliers in the UK or do I have to import from the US? Sorry for all the questions.
