HP Laptop PC 15s-fq2000 (2D119AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

The battery on my HP Laptop 15 dyxxxx isn't charging nor does it seem like it is recognized by my computer.

Please be advised that most of the information is from memory and I no longer have access to, since for some reason I can no longer run any tests, but I can give as much information as I can:

Battery Capacity: 94%

- Besides the last 3 months, I had not been using my computer often despite me having this laptop for2+ years. It does seem like a lot, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's true.

Powercfg results: February, 2023

- The mention of the 94% battery capacity stems from concern that my system has not measured my battery since February of this year. I do not have access to that powercfg html file anymore since I fresh installed my system.

Physical Troubleshooting: Reseated, No bulging, No damage

- Title. There were no physical signs of wear and tear after opening laptop. My computer also doesn't have a physical

CMOS battery so there is no reseating possible for this.

BIOS/UEFI Updated, Configured, and Reset

- Nothing changed after updating, configuring, and resetting default BIOS/UEFI settings. When booting, I also used the system diagnostics option for battery.

- This is where I got the 94% capacity info as well as a Replace(49) code. I'm not sure if this means I need to physically replace my battery, but I'm not sure why the battery would need to be replaced if at this capacity.

Drivers: Recycled, Updated

- Driver updates are a bit moot in most of my troubleshooting scenarios, as I've always updated mine, and the nature of the relationship between drivers and hardware dictates my ability to do most things in the first place.

HP Tools: Diagnostics, Driver Detection, Support Assistant

- I've had problems navigating through HP Support's documentation, as some of it is outdated and doesn't reflect their current GUI (like with the chat bots), but any tool I found for the battery reflects the issue of the computer refusing to

run a complete diag on the battery.

- There are HP updates that I'm not able to load because it doesn't detect my computer as being "plugged in".

Power Configuration: Power Cycling, Power-Saving, Overnight Off-State

- I've tried every power configuration setting and trick, including powering off to charge overnight.

Physical Battery Replacement: Last Resort

- I have not purchased a new battery yet, as I am trying to avoid the cost, especially since it seems like this battery has not gotten anywhere near half of its capacity, as well as affordability. I cannot see any possible reason how the battery just died and would like to know options for replacements.
