The laptop battery drains very quickly. It hasn't been used much because I use several computers at the same time. When in full use, it drains very quickly. 2-3 hours. The cooling system and fan often turn on very loudly.

@Kovacs_Reka, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Battery drain issues and loud fan noises on your HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-d5000 can often indicate that the laptop is not functioning optimally or it is working under heavy load conditions. Here are several steps you can take to address these issues:
Battery Optimization
Check Battery Health: Use HP Support Assistant to check the health status of your battery. Replace it if it is faulty or shows signs of wear and tear.
Power Settings: Optimize your power settings by selecting the 'Battery Saver' mode when unplugged. You can access this setting in the Control Panel under 'Power Options'.
Reduce Screen Brightness: Lowering the screen brightness can save a significant amount of battery power.
Close Unnecessary Applications: Ensure applications and processes that you do not need are closed, as they consume both battery and CPU resources.
Update Drivers: Make sure all drivers, especially for your battery and power management components, are updated. You can use the Device Manager or HP Support Assistant to check for updates.
Managing Fan Noise and Cooling
Ensure Proper Ventilation: Make sure your laptop is placed on a hard, flat surface to allow proper ventilation. Using a cooling pad can also help manage the laptop’s temperature.
Clean the Laptop: Dust buildup can cause excessive fan noise. Consider cleaning the vents and fan area if you are comfortable doing so or have it serviced by HP.
Check for Background Processes: High CPU usage due to background processes can cause increased fan activity. Use Task Manager to identify and manage resource-heavy applications.
Update BIOS: Sometimes updating the BIOS can help manage fan activity better. Visit HP’s website to check if there's a new version available for your device model.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
