The battery in my notebook seems to be shot. No matter how long I leave it plugged in charge never gets above about 50%. On boot-up I get a message about severe battery degradation.
I'm happy to replace it but I am having the devil's own job on multiple HP sites, "virtual assistants" and diagnostic tools finding out:
1. HOW I would replace the battery (which is internal, not detachable as they conveniently used to be!)
2. WHAT to buy
There are multiple model IDs, product IDs and Serial Numbers on the base of the notebook, none of which HP itself seems to recognise, so I don't even know precisely what Pavilion I have, much less what replacement battery to buy and how even whether I can replace it.
Any guidance gratefully received!
Thanks

But for which Pavilion ? Please use the following instructions to find out the model/product of your machine:

Please do NOT post its Serial number (s/n).
Regards.

Thanks for the reply.
All that info is on the base of my computer:
Model: 3168NGW
Model: 14-bf153sa
ProdID: 2PS5OEA#ABU
But none of it seems meaningful to the HP sites that might point me to the manual, or to what battery I might need ("Manufacturer 333-42-5D") according to HP Hardware Diagnostic Tools, but again seemingly not meaningful to any of the HP help sites.
Cheers
