Greetings- need help purchasing a new battery for this system. I purchased one on amazon, took it to best buy and it did not connect. I am trying to get one directly from HP and have no idea what I am looking for. Please help with a direct link to which battery I need. Right now the computer only works when the charger is plugged in, yet it does not charge at all. I have not purchased a new cable adapter as I do believe it is the battery itself.

Below is the link to the parts list for your notebook.

 

HP PartSurfer

 

The battery part number you need is this:

 

902499-856
ASSY-6CELL BATTERY 79WH 3.43AH LI KB0607

 

I checked the HP parts store, and they don't sell the battery you need.

 

You will have to find it on the secondary market.

 

Search by the HP part number.
