Hello @pete581
(1) Download and install BIOS Update
HP Notebook System BIOS Update (Intel Processors) | F.37 Rev.A | 15.2 MB | Aug 9, 2022 | Download |
Why should you install the update ? https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_4123786-2338478-16 Quote: " Updating the BIOS is recommended as standard maintenance of the computer. It can also help resolve the following issues: - An available BIOS update resolves a specific issue or improves computer performance. - The current BIOS does not support a hardware component or a Windows upgrade. - HP Support recommends installing a specific BIOS update. " |
(2) Reboot
(3) Let BIOS be installed until it's completely done !

Hi Ub642
Followed your instructions on the BIOS update (always have updated when BIOS update appears), however whilst it shows it has done the update, on reboot, the laptop does not go through the usual updating process and the system still shows the BIOS as F.36 19/03/22.
The Battery calibration process also does not work. As soon as I disconnect the mains power, the laptop switches off immediately

Hi, I ran both the short and extensive tests and still shows Battery as OK as does the power test. Also ran the BIOS test which allowed the BIOS to update, however did not solve the issue.
Test report attached
