Your comments were re-escalated to the appropriate team. They have replied, and not to repeat, it appears that "the information that was relayed to you previously via phone was from the highest point of authority"
HP did respond to your inquiry and it appears they have no more to add.

Nothing was relayed to me via phone - no report etc. I have received the unit and it doesn’t appear it was even touched since it’s still covered in fire extinguisher powder. I would assume handprints or the unit to be cleaned had someone actually looked at it. This is seriously insane how this is being handled!
