My HP Envy laptop is experiencing Battery Swelling (Like I have seen dozens of other complains about on a cursory glance).  The virtual assistant was useless in helping, there is no option to find a live chat, and the site says this is out of Warranty.  That may be the case, but with as many battery complaints that are posted here as well as a google search, it is obvious there is a major defect FROM HP, not caused by users that I demand they stand behind and send me a replacement battery.  This is ridiculous.  I am typing this on a Toshiba laptop that is 5 years older then the new HP one, and this thing has never given me one bit of problem, but buyer beware, HP laptops have  a chronic battery problem and should be avoided at all costs!!!

I would also add, HP says this is not a danger, however Lithium Ion battery that swell have caught fire and exploded.  This is dangerous to people and property, and they are misleading the public by stating there is no danger.

Per their document

Not a safety issue

A swollen battery does not present a safety issue. It is the result of the generation of gases per the normal degradation of the battery cell over time.
