Hello DABTX1,
Welcome to Forum !!
Battery will have ONE YEAR Warranty from the time of Purchase.
If the above requirement fufills, then YES HP will replace the battery for you.
If the Battery Check indicates the battery should replaced and a Warranty ID is provided in the instructions to contact HP, then the battery replacement may be covered under warranty.
I strongly recommend you to Contact HP Technical Support over the Phone for further assistance without any delay and have the Battery replaced.
Hope this helps, for any further queries reply to the post and feel free to join us again !!

Hi, GBL84-
Thank you for the info.
Hopefully, someone can also help me with the next question.
I bought my computer in Texas last January just before returning to Brazil where I live and work. HP Support in Brazil does not provide techincal support for my "inported computer". The attendant did give me a phone number in the US: Area Code 650 857-1501 When I call this number on Skype or Hangouts Dialer, I get a recording that it's not a good number.
How can I contact HP Support in the US?
Also, when I research the info for my machine, Serial Number, etc., I get a message that the device doesn't exist. OOPS! That's odd. I'm typing on it now.
Thanks in a dvance.

Hi, GBL84-
Thank you for answering.
The link to HP SUpport is so general!! Eventually, I got " online support" with chat. Both of the people who attended my question ended the chat prematurely without a final solution.
Eventually, I got a 1-800 Number where staff members were much more cooperative, understanding and helpful, to the point that they agreed to send a new battery for me to a US adderess. Victiory for HP -- they have kept me as a customer! Victory for me-- my one-year-old computer should last me a couple more years!
Signed,
HP -- Happy Person
