HP 15 Laptop PC 15-e3000 (4X377AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

My laptop's battery is stuck at 99% (plugged in) and never "fully charged" or "100% (charged)".  BIOS is updated. I tried to uninstall the ACPI battery drivers, too. Battery diagnostics shows that my battery is Normal. Haven't tried to open my laptop and remove the battery inside though. It's only been 10 days since I purchased this one.  T_T

Hi @Jeyn

Try resetting the EC (embedded controller).

From a power off state,  Hold the Windows key and the B key down at the same time, press the power button while holding the aforementioned keys down for at least eleven seconds.

Do you mean the battery or the laptop?

I tried earlier, now it says 99% remaining.

I mean the laptop.

At this point, everything has been done except replace the battery.

In the big scheme of things there isn't actually much difference between 99 and 100%.

I suggest you run the battery test and see how much difference there is between the factory battery capacity in watt Hours and the current capacity.

Thank you!  Not much of a difference for 99% and 100% according to my battery report.

OK.

In that case, the calibration isn't working as expected.
The battery test should set the current capacity to a new 100% every time the current/voltage trigger requires a calibration of the main battery.

The next BIOS update should resolve that.

If that is not satifactory, and I would understand that with a new laptop, contact HP to arrange for warranty service.

The downside of that is that you wiull have to setup the notebook again when it is returned to you.
