Hi everyone!
I am having some issues with my battery and
it seemed like a lot of people were getting their problems solved on this platform so I thought I’d give it a try!
I have outlined my steps below:
1. Problem was noticed when I plugged my adapter to the wall and plugged in the cord to my computer. Usually, the light on the computer would turn orange to show that it’s charging. But the light remained white. I checked the battery symbol on my computer screen and the battery was still very low (near 20%). Also, the symbol on the screen did not recognize it was “charging” like usual when I plugged the cord in.
2. I did the battery check on the HP support assistant. It said that it needed calibration. I followed the manual steps twice (the option where it says to plug in the adapter with the adapter at 100% for 2.5 hours).
3. I then did the battery check via the hardware system diagnostics. I turned off the computer. Turned it on and the clicked “esc” immediately. I clicked F2. I then clicked the battery check option.
4. The test said that the battery test “passed” near the middle. On the top it said “Battery test: calibration not supported”.
5. I clicked “battery details”. The failure ID for the primary battery said “Failure ID: OK”. For the secondary battery it said “unsupported”
Questions:
1. What does the “ok” mean on the failure ID mean? Do I need to take next steps to improve it?
2. How else can I calibrate the computer? I don’t think I can visit a store or specialist due to COVID-19 and social distancing practices.
3. How do I fix the “unsupported” issue on the secondary battery?
4. Do you have any other suggestions to fix the problem or save/extend battery life??
Device Information:
- HP Envy TouchSmart Sleekbook 4
- I updated to Windows 10 on early March 2020
Any help as soon as possible would be much appreciated!!

Can we have the exact model number of the laptop and also the approximate age of the battery? If you have run a full diagnostic on the battery please try to post the full advanced results. As I say here several times a day; battery issues are cured almost all the time by replacing the battery.
