Hi,
I´ve recently bought an HP Pavilion - 15-cw1005la, Ryzen 7, 128 SSD + 1tb HDD, Window 10 (64)
After 2 days use I noticed the HP Support Assistant icon showing a warning sign - needs a battery calibration check.
I followed the instructions (plug in and charge for 3 hours, run etc.) and it failed. I did this several times, always failed.
After investigating, I have tried the check using 'Hp PC Diagnostics Window' which always cancels before finishing, and I've tried the Bios restart method that takes 2+ hours to run (tried twice) with the same error - needs calibrating (20)
Before I return the laptop for a refund, should I try anything else?
Also, side question ... are the cooling fans usually so loud? Sound like they are at maximum most of the time, even when not doing anything in Windows.
Thanks for any help.
Mark

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are unable to calibrate the battery.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check if it helps.

Hi The_Fossette
Thank you for your response, and sorry for the delay in replay.
I ran the exe file you suggested and received the message ¨The BIOS you are installing is older than the current version in the system and cannot be executed¨.
Thus, no change in the calibration problem.
Thanks
Mark
