No. My laptop warranty expired. Does HP laptops have some electronic part (controller) that regulate the battery state (charging/charged)? I think Dell laptops have something like that. Does HP laptops have it too?

If you take a closer look at the motherboard, you can find out with electrical engineering knowledge.

HP warranty expired:

You should have it serviced by a professional notebook (chip level) repair store.
