Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I'm having trouble with the battery of my laptop. The computer suddenly turned off about forty minutes ago and since then every time I boot it up the battery is stuck at 8% with a message beside it in parentheses saying "plugged in, but not charging", and I can only utilize the laptop if the AC cable is plugged in.

I have run a battery check using the Hardware Diagnostics app and got a "Failed" result with the code GW0H51-82W97M-XD7WMF-C09A13.

Does that mean the battery needs to be changed?

Thank you in advance.

Hi:

Enter the code in the box at the link below and see if the website will generate more details about the error.

Usually when you get an error code like that, it means the component has failed and needs to be replaced.

One or more of the cells in the battery have most likely quit working.
