Hi. I am having a new problem with my pc battery charging. When I unplug the charger and use pc with battery power for any amount of time then plug the charger back in it doesn't charge. I have to reinstall the ACPI to make it charge. I have run the battery and charger diagnostics. No problems detected. Does anyone have an idea of what is going on?

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
- Have you made any hardware/software changes?
- Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
1. Go to Start, search for Device Manager, and open this result.
2. Expand batteries.
3. Right-click on the ACPI option (usually the 2nd option) and select delete or uninstall. Follow the prompts.
4. Shut down the computer.
5. Disconnect the charger.
6. Remove the battery.
7. Hold down the power button for 1 minute.
8. Insert the battery only.
9. Attempt to turn the battery on.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thanks for the reply. I have seen this posted before. I was really hoping to avoid that because I have an internal battery. It will take me a while before I can get to this method. I will post results when I can, soon I hope. I also ran the BIOS update again. I wasn't sure if I had updated since it was from last year.

To get the answer to this question, You should only update your BIOS if the new version contains an improvement you need.
Work on it as per your convenience and keep me posted on the results.
