Hello, Im wondering how much battery drain it is supposed to be when my HP PC-15D5000 laptop is not used for several weeks . I normally shut down the computer (no sleep mode).
Today its been about 3-4 weeks of non use at 70% state of charge, and today I tried to boot it, but the battery was entirely drained. This summer I didnt use the notebook for about 2 weeks at 60% state of charge and when I booted it, only 8% was remaining.
The notebook have been purchased this June so its about 5 months old only.
Computer is alway been in non use temperature of about 20C
I cant remove the battery on these model.
Is it preferable for these models to be always pluggued when not in use for an extended period of time?
I think it drain at an abnormal rate IMO...but maybe its because I do something wrong. I need some help on this.

Hi:
Try turning off the fast startup option in the control panel in the power options menu.
How to Disable Fast Startup in Windows 10? – TheITBros
Even though you have shut down the PC, the fast startup option puts the notebook in sort of a hibernation state, which requires some battery power to retain the Windows settings.
So, that does cause a little more drain on the battery, but it shouldn't go down as much as you have indicated but the rate of discharge should be improved.
