Could you please advise how and from where could I get this ('Sphinx' firmware )?

Contact HP technical support and they will walk you through the process and provide everything you need.  They did that with my Spectre and it is better.

There have since been a number of new BIOS releases since the Sphinx variant and I can honestly say that whatever they've done has permanently fixed the problem. 

 

I still have the same spectre that I complained about in the past but it has no such further issues and the battery is always the way I left it after I powered down, sometimes even weeks after the fact.
