Hi,

I need some help before I throw my laptop in the bin as it won't keep charge when switched off.

 

Since new, my laptop has a constant drain when switched fully off.  It's driving me mad and now out of warranty.

I've contacted HP a few times and they have never replied.

I've updated drivers, hard drive firmware, chipset, bios, disabled USB power, ran diagnostics in bios and HP Assistant and never use sleep or hibernate.  It was basically useless on my working holiday.  Just disabled Fast start up again.

 

If I fully charge my laptop 100% and leave it for 3 days, it will be on 30% and never lasts more than 3 hours.

I've heard of memory issues draining the battery.

Need some help as I may as well have bought a desktop. 

 

What do I do now?  Buy a Mac?

Hi,

 

Hp tech reset my cmos, reset the driver for the battery but the battery is worse, not only is the shutdown from 100% but at 91% after 12 hrs,  I've lost 4% already just booting and logging into this forum with battery saver on.

 

Wish I had never bought a HP laptop now.  I could buy a new battery?

I can't even update my drivers now.

 

My laptop ia now fine as I bought a Lenova lol

 

My HP is now a desktop and I've lost count how many friends have asked about HP laptops and I've told them to stay clear!
