How old is the computer? Which model is it? What operating system is it running? Has anything changed on the computer recently (like an upgrade to Windows 11)?

If the device is older, the solution is likely a battery replacement. Also, check HP Assistant to see what it says about the battery—how many cycles it has gone through and its overall health.

If the device is new and the problem suddenly appeared, try selecting the Eco or Balanced power plan. If that doesn’t help, try a different operating system. Windows 11 has a lot of AI and Copilot programs running in the background—powerful computers (Intel i7, i5) barely notice them, but the battery does.
