I recently bought this new laptop from HP. Its Ryzen 5 with SSD.

I have been noticing that the battery is draining very quickly after I have shut down the laptop. Even if it was fully charged when shutdown, when I log in again after a day or 2, the battery is literally ZERO.

Why is this so, and that too with a brand new laptop? Should I get a replacement while it is on warranty?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Laptop battery drains to 0% while powered off – This is a fairly common problem, and it's usually caused by the Connected Standby feature.
Usually, this problem occurs if the laptop doesn't shut down properly. Leaving your laptop plugged in will not cause short term damage, but if you only ever use it on AC power you'll almost certainly find that after a year the battery's capacity has been significantly reduced. Similarly, if you only ever use it on battery power you'll get through the battery's discharge cycles quicker.
