ENVY 15-ae107nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I'm encountering a battery issue with my ENVY 15-ae107nl: when booting, a black screen with battery alert appears for 15 sec saying that the primary battery capacity is lower than expected and may need to be replaced (err 601). I've looked on the (poor) support available on the device page and I tryed the following procedure I found: updating the BIOS and calibrating the battery. While I successfully updated the BIOS, when I try to calibrate the battery the sw stops and says the system doesn't support battery autocalibration (I tryed both from the BIOS and the HP Desktop Tools).

Except for the battery, my laptop really works fine and I don't wanna get rid of it, but I neither can use it as a laptop because I need AC. Is there a way I can solve this battery issue? I can try to replace it by myself, I'm quite good at this stuff, but the problem appears to be that there's no replacement on the market and I'm afraid it's because it's a difficult part to be replaced.

Can anyone help me?

Thank you all in advance

You need this battery:

3-cell, 55-Wh, 4.56-Ah 805094-005

See p. 54 of the Service Manual for "how to":

Manual

Its no more difficult than replacing the battery in any laptop with an internal battery.

Thank you, I really appreciate the speed and accuracy of your reply. I wonder why this part isn't sold on HP official stores, I'd rather buy it from there than from eBay, but I'll give it a try.

Thank you

They only stock batteries for a limited time after introduction of a specific model. HP makes so many different laptops they seem to have made the decision not to be in the battery business. They make some extra batteries when a model is introduced and when those are sold off they do not order any more and leave batteries to the battery merchants.
