Hello, I have a question about the battery health of my Victus by HP Laptop 16-d0xxx
I am currently using my laptop at home only for studying. I don't play games or do heavy tasks, so the device does not get hot. For the next 2–3 months, I plan to keep my laptop plugged in with the battery at 100%, because I don't really need to use the battery right now, i am using it only home. I want to save the battery health for future use.
My questions are:
- Is it safe to keep the laptop plugged in at 100% all the time for 2–3 months or even more?
- Will this damage the battery health in any way?
- Is there any risk such as swelling or overheating if the laptop stays at 100% for a long period?
- Does keeping the laptop plugged in help reduce battery cycle count and extend battery lifespan?
Thank you for your help.

Hi:
See this link for how to get the most life out of your notebook's battery:
HP Notebook PCs and Chromebooks - Improving battery performance | HP® Support
If it were me, I would not leave the PC connected to A/C power with the battery in a constant 100% charge state for extended periods of time as that may lead to battery swelling.
How long that is, you will only be able to find out the hard way.
I wouldn't leave it connected at a 100% charge state for more than a month.
Unplug it once in a while and run the notebook off the battery until it needs to be recharged.

Hi:
That would be fine.
You just don't want to leave the notebook plugged into A/C power 24/7/365 with the battery in a constant 100% charge state.
Whenever you unplug the PC, the battery will slowly discharge because it maintains the BIOS and system clock settings, so it won't ever stay at a 100% charge state.
How much trouble would it be if you unplugged the notebook when you were done using it for the day and plugged it in the next day?
If no problem, I recommend you do that.
Unplug it from the wall socket.
If that would be an inconvenience, then at least unplug it every couple of weeks.
