Hi @sravani29,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there might be an issue with your laptop's battery or charging system. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Check the Power Adapter: Ensure that the power adapter is securely plugged into both the laptop and the power outlet. Sometimes a loose connection can prevent proper charging.
  • Restart the Laptop: Sometimes a simple restart can fix minor software glitches that may be causing the issue.
  • Calibrate the Battery: Occasionally, calibrating the battery can help reset the battery indicator and improve accuracy. To do this, fully charge your laptop, then let it run on battery power until it shuts down due to low battery. After that, charge it again to full capacity.
  • Update Drivers and Software: Make sure your laptop's drivers and operating system are up to date. Sometimes outdated software can cause issues with battery charging.
  • Check Battery Health: Most laptops have built-in diagnostic tools that can check the health of the battery. Use these tools to see if there are any issues with the battery itself.
  • Reset BIOS/UEFI Settings: Resetting the BIOS/UEFI settings to default can sometimes resolve hardware-related issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
