I happened to notice when I hovered my mouse over the charging icon in the notification area the following: 85% available (plugged in, not charging). I switched to the power cable from my other HP laptop to check and see if I had a bad cable or adapter and the notice did not change. I opened the Windows 10 April 2018 system and ran their power troubleshooter and it did not register any problems, Anyone have any idea why my system is not keeping my battery charged?

Immediately after powering on start tapping the Esc key. This will open a menu where F2 System Diagnostics is an option. Tap F2 key and select Component tests to test battery and power adapter.
If F2 doesn't have all of the tests, download and install latest HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI under Diagnostics category on your software/drivers page:

Thank you Cheryl G., I have been a fan of HP Products since the mid 80's, and a bigger fan of the support community. The combined knowledge Y'all provide to we users is priceless. it is also one we place our trust in when we experience a problem and are lost as to the solution. Thank you for your service.
