Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When i plugin my notebook it charges nomally upto 58% and then stops. On cliking battery icon it shows plugged in, not charging. I unplug it and plug it back again and it starts to charge but stops again. I ran battery check from HP support Assistant and it showed Battery staus OK. I uninstalled Microsoft ACPI from device manager and restared my notebook but nothing happened.  I then updated all the drivers, installed all the available windows updates and updated BIOS from HP support assistant but the problem still persists. Hi! @WarMech1

Have you tried charging your laptop using a different adapter or battery?

Were there any recent windows update on the PC?

What is the BIOS version on the PC?

Remove the AC adapter and discharge battery capacity to 10 percent or lower.
Re-connect the AC adapter and check if the battery can be charged to 95 to 100 percent (95 to 100% is normal).
If upgrading the BIOS does not fix the issue, replace the battery.

Try updating the Windows to the latest version and check if it helps.

Try updating the BIOS and Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Client Driver from the links below and check if it helps.

Update the BIOS using this link. Click Here

Also, update the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Client Driver using this link. Click Here

Try the steps recommended below.

Run Power Troubleshooter.

On Cortana, enter  Troubleshooter then select Troubleshooting.
Click Improve power usage to open the window, then click Next.
This should run the troubleshooter, and can fix any detected issues. You may try restarting your computer and charge your battery again.

Also, Try performing a hard reset on your laptop and check if it helps.

  1. Turn off the computer.

  2. Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.

  3. Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.

  4. Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

  5. Remove the battery from the battery compartment.

  6. With the battery and power cord unplugged, press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors.

  7. Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the laptop, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.

  8. Press the Power button to turn on the computer.

The computer starts normally or a startup menu opens.

    NOTE:

If your computer does not start after pressing the Power button, then a power reset did not resolve the startup issue. SeeAdditional resources for further troubleshooting steps.

  9. If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, and then press the Enter key.

Lastly, If the issue still persists after trying out the steps, Please contact HP support for service options.
