The laptop (HP Envy x360 Laptop 14-fc0675nd) is not charging or charges very slow when around 33%.

* did execute all battery checks BIOS /Windows <- status normal

* updated the Bios to the latest version F0.9 Rev.A

* checked all setting  in the Bios and Windows (no updates available anymore)

* the laptop only starts charging after a CMOS reset (20-30 sec on power button)

* It is back on normal loading speed around 50% -> 60% <- this is a BUG not a setting issue

* The fix needs to be on CMOS/Bios level not user manual settings!

It is very strange that HP is sharing many settings to be changed in BIOS and Windows when you have received a new laptop to get it working as it should be. Please check the manufacture of the battery that is put in this laptop and make sure it is properly supported and charging without end-user manual changes.

Hi @BaltSmulders

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand your concern regarding the charging behavior of your HP Envy x360 Laptop. Since you’ve already updated the BIOS, performed diagnostics, and confirmed that the issue only stabilizes after a CMOS reset, this does suggest a firmware‑level rather than a user setting.

Battery Health: Consider checking the health and condition of the battery. Over time, batteries may lose their ability to hold a charge effectively. You can check battery health through the HP Support Assistant software.

Reset Power Management: Sometimes, resetting the power management can help:

  • Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the battery.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and AC adapter and check if the issue persists.

Hardware Check: Inspect the power connector on the laptop for any visible damage or malfunction, and if that seems fine, click here to run the calibration and to your notebook's battery
