Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fb0000 (598U6AV)

My battery has degraded to 0%. Can someone help me find a good-quality, preferably original replacement battery?

Does HP still sell genuine batteries/spare parts for laptops that are around 3 years old?

How can this even happen to a 3-year-old laptop?

I even had HP’s ADP Care Pack, and it literally just expired… and now I’m hit with this battery degradation.

Hi @Adithyaraman07,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand your concern, especially since your HP Victus 15-fb0040AX is only around three years old and your Care Pack has recently expired.

A battery gradually losing capacity over time is normal for lithium-ion batteries. HP notes that battery capacity decreases with use and charge cycles, and this type of capacity loss is generally considered normal wear rather than a manufacturing defect.

Before purchasing a replacement, I recommend running HP PC Hardware Diagnostics > Battery Check and sharing the result/failure ID. This will confirm the current battery condition.

If you're looking for a genuine HP replacement, we recommend checking the HP Parts Store or an HP-authorized parts reseller. Availability can vary depending on the age of the product and region.

Since the battery is an internal component, I would recommend having it replaced through an authorized HP service center rather than purchasing an unknown aftermarket battery and installing it yourself.

You can use the 🔗 HP Service Center Locator to find the nearest authorized center.

If you share the battery check result, we can first confirm whether the battery has actually reached the end of its useful capacity before looking at replacement options.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Best regards,
Kuroi_Kenshi
