Hi there. I am fairly new here so not sure about how it works here.
I bought my pc in 2021 and it was working fine till last month. But suddenly i see a massive deacrese in battery. It has changed from 41050 to 28000. When i checked the battery report via the command prompt its been through 120 cycles.
my battery gets fully charged in 30 mins and drains like 25% in 8 mins. So a massive drain too.
Should i go for replacement or is it maybe due to any program or the broken hinge i have in my pc.
my pc usage has been quite high for the past months more than 12 hours a day. And i mostly keep it plugged in.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Software and Settings Check:
- Battery Calibration: Try recalibrating your battery. Let it drain completely before fully charging it again, which might optimize its performance.
- Update Drivers & BIOS: Ensure all drivers and the BIOS are up to date. Sometimes, a BIOS update can improve battery life and charging efficiency.
Battery Usage and Optimization:
- Power Settings: Check if any power-hungry applications or background processes are running more frequently. Adjust power settings for battery saving.
- Battery Saver Mode: Use the battery saver mode in Windows to conserve energy when necessary.
Physical Inspection:
- Check for any visible damage or swelling on the battery. If detected, stop using the device immediately for safety reasons.
I hope this helps.

I had already run it all from system checks to hardware diagnostics. Even discharging completely and then recharging, but no avail. It also got quite heated up. I guess prolonged use with almost never being plugged out destroyed the battery. So finally I sent for the battery to get replaced.
Thank you for the help.
