Hi @AstrosPlays,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're facing some serious issues with your HP laptop. The symptoms you described, such as random shutdowns, difficulties in turning it back on, and strange sounds, could be indicative of various hardware or software problems. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issues.

  • Check for Overheating: Ensure that your laptop isn't overheating. Overheating can lead to unexpected shutdowns. Clean the vents and make sure the cooling system is functioning properly. You can use compressed air to remove dust from the vents.
  • Update Drivers: Make sure all your device drivers, especially those related to power management, are up to date. You can visit the HP support website to download the latest drivers for your laptop model.
  • Power Settings: Adjust your power settings to ensure that your laptop is not set to shut down or go to sleep unexpectedly. Check both the Windows power settings and any additional power management software that may be installed.
  • Battery Calibration: Calibrate your laptop battery. This involves fully charging and then discharging your battery to recalibrate the battery meter.
  • Run System Diagnostics: Most laptops come with built-in diagnostic tools. Run a comprehensive system diagnostic to check for any hardware issues. This can usually be accessed during the boot-up process.
  • Check Event Viewer: Windows Event Viewer can provide insights into system issues. Look for any critical errors or warnings that coincide with the times your laptop shuts down unexpectedly.
  • Scan for Malware: Perform a thorough malware scan using a reputable antivirus program to ensure that your laptop is not infected.
  • Backup Important Data: As a precaution, back up your important data in case the issue worsens and you need to seek professional assistance.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
